Aha Hot and Sour Soup
This soup is delicious and nutritious. A bit of hot pepper sauce balances the sour flavor and makes it a heart-warming Chinese soup that is restaurant quality.
Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 can Chicken Broth
- 1/2 cup sliced Mushrooms
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced Bamboo Shoots with juice
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 8 oz Shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 2 tsp Cornstarch
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Hot Red Pepper Sauce
- 1/2 tsp ground Ginger
- 2 Green Onions, chopped
- Crispy Chinese noodles
Recipe Steps:
- Combine broth, mushrooms, soy, bamboo in large saucepan; bring to boil then simmer 5 minutes. Add lemon, pepper, shrimp. Cook 2 minutes or until shrimp are done. Combine cornstarch and water in small bowl; stir until smooth. Dribble cornstarch in pan. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Drizzle in egg. Stir in vinegar, hot sauce, ginger. Spoon into bowls. Top with green onion. Serve with crispy Chinese noodles.
