If you have a rice cooker, you may have a 'brown rice' setting. Generally it takes longer to make brown rice than white rice. This recipe is for cooking brown rice on the stovetop.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 cup of brown rice
1 1/2 cups of water
Recipe Steps:
Wash the brown rice thoroughly and add the water. Let it soak it for 1/2 hr or longer.
Bring to a boil on high heat, turn the heat down to medium and continue cooking uncovered, stirring occasionally.
Once water shrinks down to the rice level, turn the heat down to low. Close the lid and leave it on for 30-40 min, stirring once or twice. Turn the heat off, and leave it on the stove for 5-10 min before serving. Fluff up with a rice scooper.
