This paste is used when you are eating Korean BBQ with lettuce wraps -- called ssam 쌈. Put a daub of the space inside a lettuce wrap, add a bit of freshly grilled meat, perhaps some rice or other banchan (side dish), eat, and be happy.
l/3 cup of hot pepper paste (gochujang 고추장)
l/2 cup of fermented bean paste (doenjang 된장)
1 tbsp red pepper powder (gochugaru 고추가루)
1 tbsp of chopped green pepper
3 tbsp minced garlic
l/2 tbsp of sesame seed
2 tbsp of rice wine
2 tbsp of sesame oil
2 tbsp minced onion
Mix all the ingredients well and add additional sesame oil to taste.
