If you have Korean friends you've probably experienced this odd combination of dairy and alcohol, which is pretty ubiquitous on many a Korean bar or club menu. The "yogurt" used in the drink is probably not what you're thinking -- not the white, dense stuff you eat with fruit, but more a light, sweet, slightly yogurt-y tasting drink found everywhere in Asia. There are many different brands but they're almost always in these mini plastic containers with red lids (as shown in the second photo). It's a pretty simple recipe - soju, sprite and some drinkable yogurt. Party on.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 can sprite (or similar lemon/lime soda)
  • 1 bottle soju (Green, Chamisul or other brand)
  • 3-4 small bottles of drinkable yogurt (yakult, maeil or other brand)
  • 1/2 squeezed lemon or a few dashes of lemon juice

Recipe Steps:

  • Chill all ingredients.
  • Locate a pitcher or other large drink container. Mix all ingredients, adding more or less soju and little yogurts to taste.
  • Even though this drink isn't very alcoholic, it's still fun to serve this in little shot glasses.
